Dean has taken an incredible journey from a qualified actuary to an independent and successful businessman. Once qualified, Dean took what is considered the ‘normal’ route of working for a large corporate. However, once in the regimented corporate environment he soon learned that the role of an actuary was not his preferred choice of work after all.
Being a natural innovator, Dean found this profession very numbers orientated and stagnant, so he started leaning towards being more creative and innovative. Dean says that organisations need to look at rapid innovations taking place around them and become a key player within their industry through innovation.
In 2015, Dean moved from the corporate world into the world of innovation and took on projects that needed a ‘think-out-of-the-box’ mentality. Within a short two-year period, Dean learned valuable key lessons on how to grow, create and innovate.
